Go-Kart Racing at Kathmandu

"Go-Kart Racing" is --
generally accepted as the most economic form of motor sport available. As a free-time activity, it can be performed by almost anybody, and as a motor sport in itself, it is one of the sports regulated by FIA, permitting licensed racing for anyone from the age of 8 onward.
It was my first experience of Kart-racing, and I was very eager to just have a look at it in front of me. Though, we have seen such racing on T.V., but the excitement of experiencing it live in front of eyes is something worth watching !

( Kart racing, as usually seen on T.V)

The D-day came on 11th April'2009 at Kathmandu and being Saturday, was a weekly Holiday here. So, my Family along with my fast friend's family both decided to relish the experience. The event was "Corporate Go Kart Challenge" organised for Corporate Sponsors, where executives of Corporate Offices gift themselves the Ticket for race, at their Company's expense. Since we do not believe to fleece our Company, we went there, just as mere Spectators.

(The Race continues into quarterfinals ....................)

(The number of Spectators is on an increase)

Some are not interested in the Race but may be in the Politics or other hot Topics. Some are also seen helping themselves with refreshments.

(And the race continues ................................)

(There are other not-so-privileged-spectators on the ring-side)

(And the WINNER is ...............................)

Now, it is time for the most important thing of life, to entertain your Tongue and burden your Stomach. As the Race finished, Spectators raced towards the "Refreshment-Corner", to refresh themselves!

(The Corner)

These green bottles are not Soft drinks, but bottles of Beer, which is a normal sight in Nepal. Here, it is said, that, "Surya-ast and Nepal mast", i.e, after Sunset Nepal celebrates. But, it is now only 12.48 hours, and Nepal is already Mast!
(The Masti)
(And the food- the yummy jalebis)

(Also, the Idli,Sambhar)

Though we had finished ourselves with some light munches, but the brave-hearts are still racing with bottles in their hand.

So, that was it. The Race was magnificent. So, were the Spectators. The food and the accompaniments were marvellous. And the Nature was also in full Bloom !
And a good day came to an end.
